How does
the COLOSTOMIZER attach to the colostomy pouch ?
A small connector
the size of a dime is snapped into place and is permanently attached
to a colostomy pouch. The connector remains attached through all
regular cleansing and sanitation procedures and is only removed
for a re-connection to a new replacement pouch.
How Does
the COLOSTOMIZER work ?
One end of
a very small gauge surgical tubing is connected to the tip of
the COLOSTOMIZER, and the other end to the colostomy pouch attachment.
The gas build-up will then pass from the pouch, through the surgical
tubing for a controlled odorless dispersal from the COLOSTOMIZER.
How do I
maintain pouch inflation ?
By adjusting
the COLOSTOMIZER cap you are able to maintain a desired
inflation level that will prevent the colostomy pouch from compressing
against the stoma. Vented pouches will de-flate and adhere around
the barrier flange and the stoma, creating feces build-up. Proper
inflation control will help for a free fall of feces to the bottom
of the pouch, and will also contour the clothing around the flange
and pouch for better aesthetics.
